New Director of Development

Adrian Cain

We are excited to announce that Adrian Cain is our new Director of Development. Adrian joins the Lowcountry Open Land Trust at a critical time as we begin to implement our strategic plans and greatly expanded outreach efforts. Working closely with the Board of Trustees and Executive Director, Adrian joins Dana Moorer and Ellie Tiller in the Development Office. He will serve as a key external relations person for the organization and will endeavor to develop deep and meaningful connections between the Land Trust’s members and donors in an effort to ensure the Land Trust is able to meet its mission and outreach initiatives.

Adrian brings a long history of building successful development programs, most recently serving as the Director of Institutional Advancement for the South Carolina Aquarium. There he provided leadership and oversight for the development, membership, sales and special events departments. Adrian began his career in development working for Marshall University in the midst of a $100 million capital campaign. He then joined Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and served in several integral roles during a successful $1 billion comprehensive campaign.

Adrian is a member and active volunteer in various organizations including the Charleston Yacht Club, Charleston Ocean Racing Association, Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, The Parks Conservancy, the Lowcountry Association of Fundraising Professionals Board, and numerous other organizations. Adrian graduated with a B.A. in Education and M.A. in Communications from Marshall University. Having grown up on a working cattle farm in West Virginia, Adrian brings a passion for protecting and preserving our natural spaces. He is joined by his wife, Nicole, and daughter, Lillian.
