SULLIVAN’S ISLAND BEACH SWEEP

Lowcountry Land Trust is excited to partner with our friends at the National Park Service to help in the clean-up efforts on the Sullivan’s Island! Beach Sweep has been Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park's largest one-day volunteer environmental stewardship event for 30 years! Each September, hundreds of volunteers help clear Sullivan’s Island beaches of harmful debris, protecting our local community and its rich natural resources. SC PRESCRIBED FIRE COUNCIL ANNUAL MEETING

September 24, 1:30PM - September 25, 4:30PM

The South Carolina Prescribed Fire Council Annual Meeting is a 1.5 day workshop focused on educating attendees about prescribed fire. The first day includes a field tour followed by an evening social. The second day is a classroom format workshop which includes lunch. Please visit www.SCPFC.net for more information. OYSTER SHELL RECYCLING AT LOWCOUNTRY OYSTER FESTIVAL

January 26, 10:30AM - 5:30PM

We're teaming up with Coastal Conservation Association SC to collect shells at the Lowcountry Oyster Festival at Boone Hall, a Lowcountry Land Trust protected property. All shells collected at this event will be recycled through DNR's oyster shell recycling program and will eventually be used to prep bags of oyster shell for building reefs with DNR's SCORE program. Join Summerville Saltwater Anglers, Dorchester County, Charleston Waterkeeper, Lowcountry Land Trust, Ashley Ridge Cares and Keep Dorchester County Beautiful for a cleanup on your local waterway, the Ashley Scenic River.
