This community’s response to the Preserve Angel Oak campaign has been nothing short of extraordinary. As of today, the Lowcountry Open Land Trust must raise an additional $75,000 in order to meet its $3.3 million goal to close on a final 18 acres by Friday, March 14.
To date, a major gift has been received from an anonymous donor and numerous other parties have stepped forward. Specifically, the Town of Seabrook has committed $50,000 to the campaign and the Town of Kiawah has committed $10,000. Individuals continue to send checks and make donations online too.
The Trust is enormously grateful for gifts of all sizes. Important work remains to be done in order to close on the second parcel. Donate online before March 14 or send a donation to the Lowcountry Land Trust at 43 Wentworth St., Charleston, SC 29401.
