Stephen J. Small, tax attorney and author of the “Preserving Family Lands” series and recognized as the nation’s leading authority on private land protection strategies, is bringing his expertise to Charleston. In his informative and engaging manner, Mr. Small will share his knowledge and three decades of experience with the professional advisors working on conservation easement and other land protection projects with their clients. Additional speakers include experienced professionals in these fields including Robert M. Baldwin, Burnet R. Maybank III, Marvin N. Davant, Barbara G. Holmes, Chris Vaughn and Garrett J. Budds.

The comprehensive full-day Friday continuing education program on conservation easements also includes a special Thursday night seminar focusing on estate planning and charitable giving tools relating to land protection. A panel of well-known local practitioners will join Mr. Small in engaging audience participation to explore the real-world use of these tools. This panel will be moderated by Robert M. Baldwin and includes Scott Y. Barnes, Jim Kuyk, and J. Conrad Zimmerman.
